The members of the Wicocomico Indian Tribe and descendants have dedicated their time and effort to re-establish this "Historic Indian Nation" of Northumberland County Virginia.

Our web site will explain how we are re-establishing the Wicocomico Indian Nation, the Tribal Government and our purpose.

Our other pages will discuss the history of the Wicocomico Nation, our Constitution, and the History of the Tribal Flag. We will have a Powhatan Dictionary site on line with translations, a Photo Gallery of our ancestors, an information page and a round table disscussion and issue site that our members may participate in.

Council  Our Tribal Government is briefly outlined with the council positions and the duties. Currently these positions are voluntary, but will in the future be elected by the Wicocomico members. We have attempted to establish the council as it existed three hundred years, but with updated duties.If any member is interested in serving on the council contact Al Byrd.

Dictionary  Unfortunately the Powhatan language no longer exists. Today there are approximately one thousand words of the Virginia Algonquian/Powhatan language. However this is an important page and words are posted about every 2-3 weeks. Members of the Wicocomico Nation use the words during our email communication.

Discussion   Our discussion page is open to any one that would like to post a topic for discussion or events. Currently we have 2-3 topics and issues that are up for discussion. Lets make it a lively debating arena. Just email the topic to me and I will place it on line.
